Great, peacefull place! we hope to be back soon. Thank you very much for your care!

What a great stay! We had a wonderful time, even if only for one night. and cheese with breakfast!

Ongekend fijn weekeinde gehad Als Koningen en Koninginnen verzorgd. Dank  Dank....

Amasiko is run by a dutch-german, who is integrating the locals into the lodge project, sharing the money with them and is building a school, doing farming projects etc. with the local people around it. Very very good project.
The bandas are elevated on the side of a hilly peninsula and are facing the lake.
Solar powered light, eco-toilets, own grown vegetables, ...
Very nice atmosphere, very calm and relaxing.
We felts perfect here.

This place is excellent. Its in a very remote location, but it's just you and the lake and it's peaceful and serene. A great escape from the city if you need to recharge and get back to nature. Also has a nice local feel and not like the typical "muzungu" resorts you find in other places on the lake, and it's affordable. The owner and staff were wonderful - extremely friendly and accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend Amasiko Lodge.

Great location in the northern part of Lake Bunyonyi, away from tourist places in the lake's south. Very peaceful and a perfect place to escape from everything for few days. Cottage was good value for money, clean and with superb views over the lake from the porch. Tasty meals being prepared by local people.

The owners and staff were super friendly and the homemade food with fresh ingredients from their own garden was amazing. We also liked the amount of board games. They also founded a primary school, which is definitely worth a visite. If you have the chance you could bring some pencils or blocnotes. Overall the perfect homestay for a few days of relaxation and/or hiking.

We stayed at Amasiko when visiting the gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You would think that the gorilla experience (which was fabulous) would have made where we stayed almost irrelevant, but it sticks in my mind 6 months later every bit as much as the trip to the forest.
The lodges are basic, essentially just beds, nets and light, but clean which is really all that matters and the views are absolutely beautiful. If someone had told me before I went that one of the highlights of our Uganda trip would be a shared shower down a muddy path from our room, I would have said they were mad, but Wilfried had the wood fire lit whilst we had coffee and biscuits and by the time we had finished the water was ready. Our first warm shower in days and smelling subtly of wood smoke - it was heaven.
Add to this really delicious food and interesting, fun conversation over dinner and you quickly find you really don't want to go anywhere else. Wilfried and his family and helpers have created a very special place which is truly peaceful.
In addition to all of that (and not something which is made a great deal of) you also realise that the lodge is contributing enormously to the local community including the local village school - well worth while.
If you are looking for budget accommodation - don't look any further.
